Southeast Area Command

Commander Calvin Smith

The Southeast Area Command covers the territory south of Ben White Blvd. to the Travis/Hays county line and east of the Union Pacific Railroad to the easternmost boundaries of the southern city limits. This section of the city has experienced tremendous growth, both residential and commercial, leading to a diverse and multi-layered population.

As in any urban area, the Southeast Area Command has its share of property crimes, gang problems and illegal drug activity. However, none of these problems are bigger than the commitment of the residents, business owners, and police officers working to solve them. The District Representative Program plays a key role in coordinating efforts of residents and patrol officers to reduce crime and improve living conditions in the Southeast Area Command. I encourage you to take some time to get to know and work with the district representative in your neighborhood.
