Austin Police DepartmentAustin Police Explorers
One of the most valuable things in the City of Austin’s future is our youth. Together we can make a difference that will continue to shape the landscape of our city for decades to come. We believe that positive interaction between the police officers and youth of Austin will help to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect that will improve relations, reduce crime rates, lessen drug and gang involvement and create stronger community relations. The Austin Police Explorer program is intended to show young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20 and at a 9th grade level or higher the many career opportunities available in Law Enforcement. The Austin Police Department extends an open invitation to all area youth interested in a career in Law Enforcement. Arrest Procedures
