Northeast Area Command
Commander Ernesto Pedraza
The Northeast Area Command is a largely diversified area. It includes residential, business, and industrial areas. As commander, I feel a great responsibility to work with the community to reduce not only crime but also the fear of crime. The Northeast Area is proactive in accepting new challenges. An example is the formation of a "Weed and Seed" area. Weed and Seed is a coalition of neighborhood associations, businesses, and law enforcement representatives working together to "weed-out" crime and "seed-in" positive growth. This program is directed toward established neighborhoods, empowering them to remove criminal activity and return to a safe place to live.
The district representatives for Northeast Austin are here to build and maintain partnerships within the community. They are your liaison to the Austin Police Department. It is their responsibility to work with the residents through neighborhood associations, citizen groups, businesses and individuals. They assist in planning, evaluating and designing solutions to the special issues and crime prevention strategies for their districts. Please take this opportunity to meet the dedicated officers of the Northeast Area Command District Representative Program. They are here to help you!
