Central West Area Command
Commander Toni Singletary
The Central West Area Command covers 28.96 square miles and has an estimated population of 90,335. The Central West Area contains established residential neighborhoods surrounding the original commercial center of downtown Austin, residential and commercial areas north and west of the University of Texas, and newer developments at its northern and western boundaries. Central West Command personnel work closely with citizens and neighborhood associations to address a variety of public safety issues to maintain a high quality if life.
Due to the compact and varied nature of the people and activities in this area such as the collegiate campus of the University of Texas, the primary mission of the Central West command is to ensure the safe movement of traffic and to act as the safeguard for all of its inhabitants and visitors. This has been and will continue to be a challenging task with the competing interests of all participants and resources in mind. My staff is committed to making central west clean and safe.
