Austin History Center Announces a New Exhibit
"Wings Over Austin: The History of Austin Aviation," is the new exhibit at the Austin History Center opening May 10 and continuing through August 29. The exhibit will feature photographs, historical documents, newspaper clippings, and other memorabilia reaching back to the first airplane landing in Austin in 1911 to the transformation of Bergstrom Air Force Base into our new airport.
The Austin History Center is free and open to the public. It is located at 810 Guadalupe on the corner of 8th and Guadalupe next to the John Henry Faulk Central Library. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon to 6 p.m.
