Meet the Author, Mike Cox at the Austin History Center on Sunday, November 15
Meet the Author, Mike Cox and join us at the Austin History Center, 810 Guadalupe St., from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. Cox will discuss his new book, The Time of the Rangers: The Texas Rangers, 1900 to Present, the second volume of a two-volume, quarter million-word book that explores the legend and reality of this world famous law enforcement organization. This presentation is part of a series of programs exploring how archives are used by the public and Cox will also talk about using archives to conduct his research. A book signing will follow the presentation and light refreshments will be served. The event is co-sponsored by the Austin History Center Association. About the Author
Mike Cox writes books, reads books, reviews books and sells books. He is the author of 15 non-fiction books including a two-volume history of the Texas Rangers, two collections of vintage photographs, a study of Texas disasters, three other books on the Texas Rangers, one collection of historical stories, one true crime story, a biography, a memoir and two local histories, as well as numerous magazine articles, essays and introductions for other books. He has been an elected member of the Texas Institute of Letters since 1993. Cox lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Linda and daughter Hallie.
