About CTLS
The Central Texas Library System is one of ten library systems in the State of Texas formed by the Library Systems Act passed by the Texas Legislature in the 1970s. CTLS serves a 30-county area which currently has 69 member libraries. Most of the libraries in the system serve small communities (population under 10,000). CTLS serves as a support mechanism for these library systems.
