“Avenue of the Strongest” on Exhibit at Faulk Central Library
September 7, 2006—Austin, TX, Faulk Central Library of the Austin Public Library commemorates 9/11 with a photo exhibit titled “Avenue of the Strongest” by New York photographer Mark Roddenberry. The exhibit is Roddenberry's portfolio of images he took on September 11 and September 13, 2001. Originally from South Florida, Roddenbury moved to New York to pursue his photography career. Less than one year later, his studio was eight blocks north of the World Trade Center which placed him in the middle of the devastation of Ground Zero. The stunning photographs have been generously donated by Roddenberry to the Austin Public Library. The exhibit opens on Monday, September 11, and will be on display through November 11, 2006. Exhibit can be viewed at the Faulk Central Library, 800 Guadalupe during open hours; Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon to 6 p.m. For additional information call (512) 974-7400 or visit www.cityofaustin.org/library.
