AUSTIN, Texas — May 13, 2005 — For much of the past decade, Austin City Council members Jackie Goodman and Daryl Slusher have played a key role in many important decisions that will impact the city for years to come. Now, the two are formally turning over the papers from their historic terms to the Austin History Center. The official archive of the City of Austin and Travis County is marking its 50th year in 2005.

The Austin History Center Association (AHCA) will honor Slusher and Goodman during the organization’s annual meeting on Friday, May 13th at 6:30pm. In addition to presenting their papers, the two council members will speak for a few minutes on “Leaving a Legacy.” Their presentations will be followed by an awards ceremony and the AHCA’s annual Spring Sale.

The sale will continue on Saturday, when the public will get a chance to purchase items, such as historic photographs, paintings, prints, yearbooks, city directories and hundreds of other items.
