During the month of December you can buy a book in honor of that special person. At any of the 21 Library locations you can make a donation to buy a book for the Austin Public Library collection. When you make a donation to buy a book for the Austin Public Library in the name of a family member or friend, you will have given more than just a novel gift. Over 6,500 people visit the Library every day. So the gift you give will help to buy books for many others to share for years to come.

About the Austin Public Library Collection The Austin Public Library's systemwide holdings (21 locations) is over 1.5 million-which includes books, magazines, newspapers, videos, recordings, audio cassettes, CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs. Customers visited the Austin Public Library 3,349,111 times last year and checked out a total of 3,332,645 items. The various libraries add books and materials to their collections that are relevant to the communities they serve. The following Branch Libraries have specialized collections:
Faulk Central Library—World Language collection. Circulating collection of books in over 30 different languages, as well as bilingual books in English and another language. Emphasis is on materials in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, French, and German. Other languages include Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Carver Branch—African American Collection
Little Walnut Creek Branch—English as a Second Language and foreign language materials.
Cepeda, Manchaca, Riverside, Southeast Austin Community,Terrazas Branches—Adult and Youth Spanish Collection.
Spicewood Springs Branch—Asian Collection includes Indian and Chinese materials
Yarborough Branch—Chinese Collection
