The Austin Public Library Hosts a Meeting for Recommendations on the Expansion of the Terrazas Branch Library

An opportunity for your voice to be heard-the Austin Public Library hosts a public meeting to listen to the community's input on the proposed expansion of the Terrazas Branch Library. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at 6:30 p.m., at the Terrazas Branch Library, 1105 E. César Chávez Street.

In the 1998 City Of Austin Bond Election, voters approved the funds to acquire the necessary land to design and construct an expansion of the Terrazas Branch Library from its present 5,400 square feet to 10,000 square feet. By January of 2001, the City of Austin had successfully purchased all of the adjacent, commercial property required to double the size of the Terrazas Branch Library facility. The Lawrence Group Architects have recently been contracted to design this important library expansion project.

The Austin Public Library would like your suggestions and recommendations as to what features should be included in the design of the larger improved community branch library. Please plan to attend this important meeting in order to share your ideas with the library team.
