Mayor's Book Club Selection for 2004
The third annual selection of the "Mayor's Book Club-Keep Austin Reading" campaign will be announced during a press conference at the Faulk Central Library on Friday, May 14, 2004, at 2 p.m.
After two successful years the Library, in conjunction with the mayor's office, will launch its third annual citywide campaign to develop a community experience through reading and discussion of a shared book.
The mayor and the Library invite all of Austin to read the book over the summer, and get together in the fall for discussion groups at area libraries facilitated by the University of Texas Humanities Institute. The book will be available at all library locations, as well as at area bookstores.>
Participants:
Mayor Will Wynn
Brenda Branch, Director of Libraries
Evan Carton, Director University of Texas Humanities Institute
