Korean-American Friendship Day, February 17, 2002

Come celebrate as we make new friends on this Special Day!

Twenty-one Korean teachers are visiting Central Texas on a 7-week training
program at the Texas International Educational Consortium.

Puppet Show "Why Cowboys Sing in Texas" by the Hand to Mouth Puppet Theatre and Sponsored by the Austin Public Library Youth Services & Storytime with the Korean Teachers--listen to stories in Korean.

Musical Interlude by a Korean Teacher.

     

3 pm

 

Mayoral Proclamation by Roger Chan, Assistant City Manager on behalf of the City of Austin. Presented to Mr. Jong Hoon Lee, Director of the Korean Education Center, Houston, Texas on behalf of the Republic of Korea. Book Presentation to John Hur, chairman of the Austin-Kwangmyong Sister City Committee, on behalf of the city of Kwangmyong.

Korean National Fashion Parade--original Korean Fashions "Han-bok" will be presented by Teachers of Korea.
