Proposed Code Amendments

Below are proposals to amend Chapter 25 and 30 of the City Code. The Planning Commission and City Council may initiate changes to the Code. Case amendment numbers (C2O-0X-XXX) are assigned before the Planning Commission's Codes and Ordinances Committee takes action on a proposal.

This is not a complete listing of all code amendments initiated by the City Council or Planning Commission. If you do not see a code amendment listed on this website, contact the city staff person listed on the notice or agenda for information about the amendment. For up-to-date information about an amendment, contact the city staff listed for the code amendment.

2009 Proposed Code Amendments

C2O-2009-020: Amend Chapter 25-2, Article 13 (Boat Docks) of the Land Development Code, to clarify regulatory requirements for shoreline access and protection of the shoreline from erosion.

C2O-2009-024: Amend Chapter 25-8 of the Land Development Code to permit construction in the Critical Water Quality Zone, related to the removal of a gravel bar in Barton Springs Pool.

C2O-2009-018:Amend Section 25-10-152 of the City Code to prohibit the relocation of billboards within 500 feet of a residential use.

C2O-2009-017: Amend Chapter 25-2 of the City Code to change the interim zoning designations granted upon annexation to be consistent with standard and small single-family lots shown on an approved preliminary plan or final plat.

C2O-2009-016: Amend Section 25-2-242 (5) of the City Code to replace the phrase 17% of the 51% with one-third of the 51% with regard to local historic districts.

C2O-2009-015: Amend Chapters 25-1 and 25-2 of the City Code to clarify that a Neighborhood Planning Contact Team may be an interested party for purposes of administrative appeals.

C2O-2009-014: Amend Chapter 25-5 (Site Plans) to add a new section 25-5-5 to require approval of non-City water and wastewater utilities during site plan approval.

C2O-2009-013: Amend Chapter 25-2, Subchapter E (Design Standards & Mixed Use), of the City Code to reclassify East Riverside Drive between Pleasant Valley Road and Highway 71 from an Urban Roadway to a Core Transit Corridor.

C2O-2009-012: Amend Chapter 25-1 to add a new Article 17 establishing public notice and hearing requirements for Interlocal Development Agreements.

C2O-2009-002: Amend Chapter 25 and Chapter 30 of the City Code concerning requirements for notification of subdivision and site plan applications.

2008 Proposed Code Amendments

C20-2008-018 Amend Chapter 25-2, Article 16 of the City Code related to the Neighborhood Plan Amendment process. The amendments are designed to clarify, and reorganize the plan amendment ordinance as well as codify established community meeting procedures. In addition, a new plan amendment requirement is included that provides for the expiration of a plan amendment application.
