The City of Austin’s leadership is committed to involving the community in decisions that may affect them, whether through in-person meetings and conversations or through the use of technology.
The Community Engagement office is dedicated to finding meaningful ways for the community to interact with the City through a variety of tools accessible to the community including Social Media, SpeakUpAustin, online surveys or small group discussions. Our job is to make collaboration available, relevant and worthwhile.
Community Engagement means that, as an organization, we take into consideration the needs of the community and facilitate a conversation between City officials and the community. Collaboration and diversity of thought are vital ingredients to a successful engagement. Part of our work is to find pockets of the population that usually are not part of the decision-making process and look for creative ways to bring them into the process.
If you have suggestions on how to reach the community or a group that you feel has not been engaged in the past, contact Marion Sanchez or call 512-974-2955, We thank you for your time and for helping us in making Austin a stellar city for everyone.
