January 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
January 2009
Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January 2009 was 576,157 down 10% compared to January 2008. January 2009 enplanements totaled 287,179, down 9%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 208,118, down 1%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 131,855, down 26%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 64,673, down 16.5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and Pinnacle) passengers totaled 34,221, down 18.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 35,284, up 103.5%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, Mesa, and GoJet) passengers totaled 32,165, down 14.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 29,912, up 39.5%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 19,572, up 3%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 14,220, down 9.5%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 4,216; Air Canada passengers totaled 1,323.
January 2009 air cargo totaled 13,491,381 lbs., down 28% compared to January 2008. International air cargo totaled 281,760, down 39%. Federal Express carried 8.7 million lbs., down 5.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2 million lbs., down 23%.
Air Services transferred 635,016 lbs of mail, up 29.5%; and 1.3 million lbs. of belly freight, down 33%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,738 down 19%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,202, down 20.5%.
