September 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

September 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for September 2009 was 666,252 up 2% compared to September 2008. September 2009 enplanements totaled 331,122, up 2%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 240,464, up 5% compared to September 2008; American Airlines passengers totaled 139,889, down 13%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 67,793, down 0.8%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 61,546, up 39.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 52,061, up 59.5%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 37,690, down 7.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 31,940, up 3.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 17,434, up 1%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 14,231; Air Canada passengers totaled 359, down 80.5%.

September 2009 air cargo totaled 13,319,615 lbs., down 19% compared to September 2008. International air cargo totaled 365,382 up 20%. Federal Express carried 8.3 million lbs., up 2.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.7 million lbs., down 0.2%.

Air Services transferred 447,993 lbs of mail, down 22%; and 1.1 million lbs. of belly freight, down 28%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,899 down 22%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,622, down 11.5%.

January – September 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – September YTD was 6,110,202, down 9% compared to January – September 2008. January – September 2009 enplanements totaled 3,049,691, down 9.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 2,307,996, up 1.5%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 1,396,155, down 19%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 688,925, down 5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, Pinnacle, and Atlantic Southeast) passengers 513,894, up 8.5%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 349,879, down 14%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 313,362, up 21.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 300,027, up 20%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 172,151, down 1%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 22,971; Air Canada passengers totaled 13,399, up 13%.

September YTD (January – September 2009) air cargo totaled 114,971,946 lbs., down 26%. International air cargo totaled 2,664,891 lbs., down 24%. Federal Express carried 74.8 million lbs., down 1.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 19.6 million lbs., down 20%.

Air Services transferred 3.9 million lbs of mail, down 20%; and 11.1 million lbs. of belly freight, down 30%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 43,997 for January – September YTD, down 21%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 131,275, down 19%.
