June 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

June 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for June 2009 was 765,577 down 10% compared to June 2008. June 2009 enplanements totaled 390,675, down 9.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 285,867, up 0.2% compared to June 2008; American Airlines passengers totaled 178,261, down 16.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 84,376, up 2%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America) passengers totaled 83,460, up 38%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 44,786, down 11.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 37,236, down 3%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 32,734, up 4%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 24,007, up 7%; Air Canada passengers totaled 1,464, down 49%.

June 2009 air cargo totaled 12,631,734 lbs., down 23% compared to June 2008. International air cargo totaled 301,450 down 22.5%. Federal Express carried 8.1 million lbs., up 9%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.2 million lbs., down 16%.

Air Services transferred 296,954 lbs of mail, down 54%; and 1.3 million lbs. of belly freight, down 28%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 5,126 down 15%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,855, down 20%.

January – June 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – June YTD was 3,915,683, down 12% compared to January – June 2008. January – June 2009 enplanements totaled 1,962,922, down 12%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,498,399, down 0.09%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 900,140, down 22%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 453,868, down 9%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America) passengers 311,771, down 0.1%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 223,312, down 16%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 206,731, up 36%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 181,068, up 19.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 108,345, down 3.5%; Air Canada passengers totaled 9,347, up 68%.

June YTD (January – June 2009) air cargo totaled 76,935,349 lbs., down 27%. International air cargo totaled 1,691,812 lbs., down 31.5%. Federal Express carried 49.9 million lbs., down 2%; and United Parcel Service carried 13 million lbs., down 20.5%.

Air Services transferred 2.6 million lbs of mail, down 15.5%; and 7.6 million lbs. of belly freight, down 29%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 29,692 for January – June YTD, down 22.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 87,148, down 22%.
