July 2008 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
July 2008

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for July 2008 was 855,607 up 3% compared to July 2007. July 2008 enplanements totaled 442,947, up 3%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 298,067, up 10% compared to July 2007; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 211,285, down 6%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 80,108, down 13.5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers totaled 65,993, down 19%; United Airlines (including SkyWest and Mesa) passengers totaled 48,047, up 30.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 38,213, up 64.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 27,692, down 3%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers 27,098 up, 31%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 23,385 down 2%; ExpressJet Airlines passengers totaled 15,942, down 36.5%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 12,165; Air Canada passengers totaled 2,250.

July 2008 air cargo totaled 16,635,109 lbs., down 3% compared to July 2007. International air cargo totaled 382,544 up 13.5%. Federal Express carried 8 million lbs., down 10.5%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 2.9 million lbs., down 3.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.6 million lbs., up 7%.

Air Services transferred 678,922 lbs of mail, up 284.5%; and 1.8 million lbs. of belly freight, down 7%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 5,612 up 16%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 17,578, up 2 %.

January – July 2008 Year-to-Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – July YTD was 5,407,437, up 5.5% compared to January – July 2007. January – July 2008 enplanements totaled 2,776,746, up 5.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,899,535, up 8.5%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 1,369,637, down 1.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 577,211, down 4.5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers 428,615, down 11%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, and Mesa) passengers totaled 262,297, up 7%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 189,927, up 38%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 179,297, up 10.5%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 156,421, up 11%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 135,676, up 7%; ExpressJet Airlines passengers totaled 113,609 up 91%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 34,022; Air Canada passengers totaled 7,809.

July YTD (January – July 2008) air cargo totaled 122,146,165 lbs., up 3.5%. International air cargo totaled 2,854,129 lbs., up 1.5%. Federal Express carried 59.1 million lbs., down 1%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 22.2 million lbs., up 17%; and United Parcel Service carried 19 million lbs., up 1.5%.

Air Services transferred 3,865,151 lbs of mail, up 49.5%; and 12.6 million lbs. of belly freight, down 9%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 44,011 for January – July YTD, up 7.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 128,977, up 8%.
