July 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

July 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for July 2009 was 786,248 down 6% compared to July 2008. July 2009 enplanements totaled 395,256, down 7%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 297,908, up 6.5% compared to July 2008; American Airlines passengers totaled 185,521, down 12%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 87,841, up 10%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest) passengers totaled 65,429, up 4.5%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 45,783, down 11%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 39,711, up 4%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 34,644, up 25%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 24,969, up 7%; Air Canada passengers totaled 1,741, down 22.5%.

July 2009 air cargo totaled 12,865,182 lbs., down 22.5% compared to July 2008. International air cargo totaled 298,616 down 22%. Federal Express carried 8.3 million lbs., up 3.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.1 million lbs., down 16.5%.

Air Services transferred 448,079 lbs of mail, down 34%; and 1.2 million lbs. of belly freight, down 31.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,624 down 17.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,646, down 16.5%.

January – July 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – July YTD was 4,701,931, down 11% compared to January – July 2008. January – July 2009 enplanements totaled 2,358,178, down 11%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,796,307, up 0.9%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 1,085,661, down 21%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 541,709, down 6%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, Pinnacle, and Atlantic Southeast) passengers 377,200, up 0.8%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 269,095, down 15%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 246,442, up 30%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 215,712, up 20%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 133,314, down 2%; Air Canada passengers totaled 11,088, up 42%.

July YTD (January – July 2009) air cargo totaled 89,800,531 lbs., down 26.5%. International air cargo totaled 1,990,428 lbs., down 30%. Federal Express carried 58.3 million lbs., down 1.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 15.2 million lbs., down 20%.

Air Services transferred 3.1 million lbs of mail, down 19%; and 8.9 million lbs. of belly freight, down 29.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 34,316 for January – July YTD, down 22%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 101,794, down 21%.
