February 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

February 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for February 2009 was 547,746 down 14% compared to February 2008. February 2009 enplanements totaled 272,337, down 14%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 211,606, down 0.22% to February 2008; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 127,399, down 25.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 61,682, down 22%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 30,166, down 15.5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and Pinnacle) passengers totaled 28,692, down 36.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 26,356, up 58%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 25,515, up 24.5%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 18,031, up 6%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 14,017, down 16%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 2,715; Air Canada passengers totaled 1,273.

February 2009 air cargo totaled 12,270,581 lbs., down 29% compared to February 2008. International air cargo totaled 258,008 down 36%. Federal Express carried 7.9 million lbs., down 9%; and United Parcel Service carried 2 million lbs., down 19%.

Air Services transferred 527,297 lbs of mail, up 7.5%; and 1.2 million lbs. of belly freight, down 22%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,736 down 26%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 13,477, down 25.5%.

January - February 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – February YTD was 1,123,903, down 12% compared to January – February 2008. January – February 2009 enplanements totaled 559,516, down 11%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 419,724, down 0.67%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 259,254, down 25.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 126,355, down 19%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and Pinnacle) passengers 62,913, down 28%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 62,331, down 15%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 61,640, up 81%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 55,427, up 32%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 37,603, up 4%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 28,237, down 13%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 6,931; Air Canada passengers totaled 2,596.

February YTD (January – February 2009) air cargo totaled 25,761,962 lbs., down 28.5%. International air cargo totaled 539,768 lbs., down 37.5%. Federal Express carried 16.6 million lbs., down 7%; and United ParcelService carried 4.1 million lbs., down 21%.

Air Services transferred 1.1 million lbs of mail, up 18.5%; and 2.6 million lbs. of belly freight, down 28%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 9,474 for January – February YTD, down 22.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 27,679, down 23%.
