April 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

April 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for April 2009 was 670,491 down 8.5% compared to April 2008. April 2009 enplanements totaled 337,537, down 8.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 260,644, up 1% compared to April 2008; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 166,057, down 11%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 79,930, down 8%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines) passengers totaled 57,158, up 4%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 37,654, down 16.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 32,878, up 63%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 30,551, up 35.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 15,947 down 10%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 2,274; Air Canada passengers totaled 1,744.

April 2009 air cargo totaled 12,751,648 lbs., down 30% compared to April 2008. International air cargo totaled 293,385 down 35.5%. Federal Express carried 8.2 million lbs., down 5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.1 million lbs., down 33%.

Air Services transferred 444,929 lbs of mail, down 12.5%; and 1.2 million lbs. of belly freight, down 34%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,749 down 32.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,481, down 23%.

January – April 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity:Total passenger traffic for January – April YTD was 2,458,223, down 12% compared to January – April 2008. January – April 2009 enplanements totaled 1,225,357, down 12%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 957,373, up 1.5%; American Airlines(including Trans States) passengers totaled 552,112, down 25%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 292,896, down 11%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and Pinnacle) passengers 156,268, down 21%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 139,622, down 17%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 134,573, up 78%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 117,611, up 30.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 62,746, down 12%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 14,067; Air Canada passengers totaled 6,413.

April YTD (January – April 2009) air cargo totaled 51,234,554 lbs., down 28.5%. International air cargo totaled 1,140,889 lbs., down 31.5%. Federal Express carried 33.1 million lbs., down 6%; and United Parcel Service carried 8.4 million lbs., down 24%.

Air Services transferred 2 million lbs of mail, up 5%; and 5.2 million lbs. of belly freight, down 28%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 19,268 for January – April YTD, down 25%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 57,066, down 22%.
