In fulfilling its mission to make Austin city government better and more accountable, the Office of the City Auditor (OCA) has received the following awards:
Institute of Internal Auditors - Austin Chapter FY 2008 Employer of the Year Award.
During FY 2008, Steve Morgan received two Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) awards for dedicated service on the International Board of Directors and for being the Chairman of the North American Board. In addition, he was the recipient of the Institute of Internal Auditors 2009 Victor Z. Brink Memorial Award for his many years of dedication to The Institute.
National Intergovernmental Audit Forum’s Excellence in Government Performance and Accountability Award, 2007, presented to City Auditor, Stephen L. Morgan by the Office of the Comptroller General of the United States.
Harry Hatry Distinguished Performance Measurement Practice Award, 2002, presented to City Auditor, Stephen L. Morgan by the American Society of Public Administrators (National Association)
Special Projects Award, Honorable Mention, 2002, presented to the Office of the City Auditor by the National Association of Local Government Auditors
Commitment to Quality Improvement Award, June 2000
